Description
Refrigerant R22 is a legacy refrigerant that was widely used in residential and commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems for many years. It provides reliable cooling performance but has a high environmental impact due to its ozone depleting properties, which led to its phaseout under international regulations. R22 is now restricted to existing systems only, and new equipment is no longer manufactured to use this refrigerant.
